Getting to Know Your Workspace Navigation and Activity Feeds

Your header navigation and feeds make it easy to see what's new, discover new content, and find what you're looking for.

New to Haystack or need a refresher? Follow along with this article in your own account to learn your way around your workspace.

Header Navigation Bar

Your headers navigation bar is a quick, central way to access all of the spaces and pages in your workspace.

From left to right, here's what you can expect:

  • Workspace Icon & Home. Click either your workspace icon or the Home link to visit your workspace dashboard. Your dashboard is the quickest way to see what's new, important links, and people celebrations all in one place.

  • Activity. Click Activity to visit your feeds of new posts and events.

  • Resources. Click Resources to visit your team's resource pages, company glossary, and important links.

  • Employees. Click Employees to visit your people directory, org chart, and global people page.

  • Groups. Click Groups to visit the list of groups in your workspace.

Keep in mind, your admins may have customized the names of your navigation links. For example, Employees may have been customized to Team Members.

Activity Feeds

Your activity feeds make it easy to find and discovery the latest news and events from around your company.

Activity Feed

The activity feed is a real-time feed rich with new posts and events sorted by publish date from the groups you're a member of.

To the left and right of the activity feed, you'll find:

  • Quick access to your profile page

  • Quick access to the posts and events feeds, see below

  • Suggested search terms to help you and explore and discover content across your workspace

  • Quick access to employee celebrations like new hires and work anniversaries

  • Quick access to your group pages

Posts Feed

The posts feed is is a real-time feed of new posts from the groups you're a member of sorted by publish date with the latest published at the top.

To the left and right of the posts feed, you'll find:

  • Quick access to view only featured posts, which are posts in the dashboard carousel

  • Quick access to filter your feed by the group in which the posts were published

  • Quick access to filter your feed by the author who published the post

  • A mini carousel, which is identical to what you'll see on the your dashboard

  • An overview of popular tags on posts across the workspace

Events Feed

The events feed is is a real-time feed of new posts from the groups you're a member of, sorted by event date with the next upcoming at the top.

To the left and right of the events feed, you'll find:

  • Quick access to events you are attending and past events

  • Quick access to filter your feed by the group in which the events were published

  • Quick access to filter your feed by the event host

  • An overview of popular tags on events across the workspace

Interacting With Content In Your Feeds

Your feeds are built to make it easy to interact with posts and events—whether expanding to read content or adding an emoji reaction, you can do it all right from your feed!

Interacting with Posts

There are a number of ways to interact with the posts in your feeds:

  • Quick identify the posts you've read (or not yet read) using the tag at the top of each post

  • Click the See More link at the bottom of a post to expand the full content in-feed

  • Use the emoji and comment options at the bottom to add your reactions, questions, and more

Interacting with Events

There are a number of ways to interact with the events in your feeds:

  • Quick identify the events you've read (or not yet read) using the tag at the top of each event

  • Use the emoji and comment options at the bottom to add your reactions, questions, and more

  • Click the See More link at the bottom of an event to expand the full content in-feed

  • RSVP to an event using the button on the event card

  • Add an event to your calendar using the button on the event card
