Viewing, Creating, and Managing Links

Links are the best place to house and find links to frequently visited pages and resources, both inside and outside of Haystack.

Links are the best place to house and find links to frequently visited pages and resources, both inside and outside of Haystack. Admins and content owners create and manage links, but all users have access to view them.


Viewing Your Links Page

To view your links page...

  1. Click Resources in your header navigation

  2. Select Links from the dropdown

  • At the top of your links page, you'll see featured links that have been selected by your admins.

  • Just below, you'll see all of the links from all the groups you're a member of sorted A-Z.

  • On the left, you'll see a search bar and filters to help you quickly find what you're looking for.

In addition to your links page, you can view links in a few additional places:

  • View featured links on the Featured Links dashboard card.

  • View group links on the group's page — click Links below the page header.


Creating Links (For Content Owners)

If you've been given content creation permissions—workspace admins permissions, group owner permissions, etc—you'll have the ability to create links. Just like posts, events, and resources, all links are housed within a group.


To create a link...

  1. Click the Create button in the top right corner of your Haystack account.

  2. Select the group in which you'd like to house your link. Keep in mind, all links no matter their group will appear on the links page for group members.

  3. Use the fields to add your link details, including title, URL, and optional tags and icon. You can use any size square image for your icon. Haystack will do the resizing for you!

  4. When you're happy with your setup, click Publish!


Featuring Links (For Admins)

If you've been given admin permissions—workspace admins permissions, resource admin permissions, etc—you'll have the ability to feature links. Feature links appear in two places:

  • At the top of all users' Links page

  • Within the Featured Links card on the dashboard

To feature a new link...

  1. Follow the steps above to create a new link

  2. Before you publish, toggle on the Feature Link toggle

  3. Publish!

To feature an existing link...

  1. Visit your Links page and find the link you'd like to feature.

  2. Click the three-dot button to the right of the link

  3. Select Feature Link from the dropdown.

Note: There is no limit to the number of links you can feature. However, your Featured Links dashboard card will only house the top 8 featured links.


Reordering Featured Links (For Content Owners)

If you've been given admin permissions—workspace admins permissions, resource admin permissions, etc—you'll have the ability to reorder featured links. The order you set will appear on the Links page and the Featured Links dashboard card for all users.

To reorder your featured links...

  1. Visit the Links page via your header navigation

  2. In the top righthand corner, click Reorder

  3. Drag and drop your links into the order you'd like

  4. Click Update
