Creating and Managing Events 🎉

Events are one of the most fun and useful things you can create in Haystack. Think all-hands meetings, company holidays, training sessions, or even a virtual coffee break—if it has a date and a time, it belongs here! We'll walk you through the simple steps to create, customize, and share your event so that your entire company or specific groups know exactly when and where to be.

Creating Your Event: The 8-Step VIP Process

Follow these steps to set up the perfect event and ensure you have all the key details covered.

  1. Start the Creation: Click the Create button in your page header, then select Create Event from the modal.

  2. Pick Your Audience: Choose who gets an invite! You can share your event Company Wide or select a specific group from the Other Audiences section. Click Continue.

  3. Add the Core Details: Fill in all the must-have info. (Required fields are marked with a red asterisk, so keep an eye out!) Click Continue.

  4. Set Your RSVP Style: This is where you decide how you want to track attendance. You have three simple options:

    • RSVPs Not Needed: No need to track attendees.

    • Set RSVPs Open & Close Time: Attendees can RSVP during a specific window, but there's no limit on capacity.

    • Close RSVPs at Capacity: You can set a capacity limit, and RSVPs will automatically close when it's full.

  5. Add the Flavor: Write your event description! Use the content editor to add a subtitle, detailed text, images, attachments, and anything else you need to make it engaging.

  6. Hit Publish! When everything looks perfect, click the green Publish button.

Share the News! 🗞️

Your event is live! Now, let’s make sure everyone sees it. Once you publish, a green Share Your Event button will pop up. Click this to easily send out notifications via:

  • Email

  • Slack

  • Google Calendar Invite

To find your finished events later, simply visit the Events feed via your page header.
