Introducing Closed Groups—a new group type that features request-to-join membership.
We're so excited to introduce a brand new group type that is a perfect addition to the Open and Secret groups you know and love. Say hello to Closed groups!
Closed groups are listed for all members of your workspace on the All Groups page, but the content within them is only visible to group members.
Non-members can request to join a closed group at any time.
Closed group membership requests can be approved or denied by the group's owners or workspace admins.

Closed groups are especially helpful for initiatives, communities, and projects that benefit from a closed, private space—but are open to welcoming new members. Many Haystack companies will be using closed groups for employee resource groups, subject matter & learning communities, and internal social groups.
Mobile Note: Requesting group membership is currently only supported on web browsers. This tool will be added to our mobile apps soon!
